The world's biggest log hotel, Old Faithful Inn provides unobstructed views of the world-famous geyser "Old Faithful" named because of the predictable nature of its eruptions. Designed by architect Robert Reamer, the building features a multi-story lobby with a massive stone fireplace flanked by long frame wings that house guest rooms. One of the country's finest examples of the "Golden Age" of rustic resort architecture, the inn joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 as the centerpiece of the historic district that includes several other buildings and the geyser itself. Constructed using only local materials, the inn remains one of the last great park lodges of the American West, attracting as many visitors today as it did when it opened in 1904. They offer free tours throughout the day. Great information about the Inn and past history and even got to see one of the original rooms.

This hotel has withstood the test of time. It is as gorgeous today as it was when it was first built. The attention to detail here is extreme. Whether it is the exquisite decor or the excellent attention to cleanliness and service you will not be disappointed by staying here. Even the breakfast here is wonderful in the morning. It opens at 6:30am and runs until 10:30am so there is plenty of time. The viewing deck is amazing for viewing Old Faithful comfortably. They even keep a regular posting of the approximate time that Old Faithful will erupt next. It was a true pleasure to stay here.
Cool place. Old school. Friendly staff and great service. Great observation deck for watching the Old Faithful geyser. Restaurant and gift shop. Nice walking trail to see different geysers around the hotel. Not a far drive from the west gate entrance and about 45 minutes to Lake Yellowstone.
