Parts of an iconic image of the capital city, Lincoln Memorial have been the site of some defining moments in American history. Overlooked by a marble Abraham Lincoln, the pool complements the monument's classic architecture, noted for its 36 fluted Doric columns. Martin Luther King delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech here, and the site has since hosted dozens of other social and political events. The monument is open to the public 24 hours a day, so consider stopping by at different times to fully appreciate the building's architecture, the views across the 600 m (2,000 ft) long reflecting pool, and Lincoln's stony gaze. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Washington DC holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Lincoln Memorial and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

It was great to walk along the reflecting pool towards the memorial and to go inside and stand in front of Lincoln.

Reality Vs. Expectations 😊 These pictures I posted are reality . The place is crowded with tourists or locals , just people all over the place . It was fun , a lot of walking going around all the tourists spots In Washington . Going to Lincoln Memorial is quite a challenge for your feet. Make sure you have a good pair of sneakers 😊 or rent a scooter or bicycle . It was fun going around on scooter . Just need your phone and credit card. Different scooter has different price. Goodluck 😊 Lincoln Memorial reminds me of the movie “ Night at the Museum” . Lots of tourist taking pictures . Nice to sit down after a long walk and pictures taken . Breathe in and breathe out and enjoy .

I flew to DC in November. We decided to visit the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. No regrets! The park is very historic with lots to see. The souvenir shop nearby is worth checking out. They have postcards and other gifts. It was checked off my bucket list.
