St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum reviews
Even though state mandates are lifted they are requiring masks on children 2+ even on the playground and outdoor areas. Absolutely inappropriate! more »
We visited the Lighthouse the day after Thanksgiving. It was a beautiful day and the grounds are lovely. There is a lot to do besides the climb. I especially liked the Light Keepers House and you..... more »
I love this place! I’ve been going every year for awhile now and i’m so glad i do. It’s so exciting to learn about the history of this lighthouse and the atmosphere is very inviting. The city it’s self is the oldest in the United States and i love the fact that it still has many of its original buildings still up... like this lighthouse. Of course the climb is hard and tough (217 steps) but there are stops where you can take a breather and rest a little before making your way up. It’s so worth it when you get to the top and the view is breathtaking! Be careful because there is wasps up there but if you don’t mess with them they won’t mess with you. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who loves history!
I loved the view from the top. The 219 steps are rather exhausting. But I'm fat so...you know. There was a volunteer guide at the top who answered a few questions. I will warn that there are wasps up there but they don't sting. They're just attracted to the red of the lighthouse. The other sites were closed by the time I got there but it was still fun to see the old homes and such. Would go again. Id go earlier to see more.
