Florida's official state art museum, The Ringling includes over 20 galleries filled with European, Asian, and American paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, and photographs. Among the 10,000 objects housed here, you can see a world-renowned collection of paintings by Rubens, Velazquez, Veronese, Bernini, Poussin, and Gainsborough. The campus also includes a circus museum, which boasts a huge collection of handbills, posters, costumes, props, parade wagons, and other equipment. The adjacent learning center houses a scale replica of a 1930s circus, claiming status as the largest miniature circus in the world. End your visit with a cup of coffee or tea at the museum cafe, or sit down for a gourmet meal at the on-site restaurant. Have always wanted to go here, but never found the time. The Art Museum & House are nice, but the learning center where the miniature circus is was AWESOME. Such detail. So man things to see and... more »

It is an incredibly cool place however there were a few things that bugged me about the management of the museum. Before I get into I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone to go here for a great experience. First off half of the museum was closed and we were not told this when buying our tickets to see the museum. Secondly when you see the Howard Circus replica it was all hand done by one man who still works there to this day working on that miniature circus because he loves to but despite him asking numerous times the management of the museum still refuses to let him put a plaque in the circus stating that there have been over 7000 hours of work put into creating this amazing miniature circus. Overall is highly recommend this place but from some parts of my experience their management could do a better job.

I am a really big fan of the rose garden, but the art is ok. And I really do love the art, but I’m here all the time and it feels like most of the artwork is similar; all high in value in market. Sometimes, art can be valuable even if it’s not valuable in the market. I wish they would bring in more unique art. Also, the workers there are really rude and they scare me.
