Not just any old government structure, Santa Barbara County Courthouse is a four-building Spanish-Moorish complex with plenty to see beyond courtrooms. As you wander the 14,000 sq m (150,000 sq ft), you can view the Mural Room, Law Library, and Hall of Records. Climb the Bell Tower to see the inner workings of the old clock--and to take photos from this famous observation deck. The courthouse's interior might surprise you with its intense colors, bodacious tiles, and bold lighting. Its gardens feature trees from more than 25 countries and are a popular place for weddings. The best place to get hitched with the love of your life. The Judges are respectful and also share how important your special day is for you and your love. Their customer service is par excellence. Plus, the courthouse is a beautiful Spanish revival courthouse. Great for wedding pictures! And it’s in Santa Barbara! What more could you ask for?

I've lived in Santa Barbara since 1994 and I never get tired of going inside the courthouse and looking at the beautiful Spanish architecture that our city was so blessed to have adorn it’s buildings. I cannot speak as highly of the Spaniards who exploited the indigenous people of California, but that’s another topic for another time. The courthouse is awesome. Go see it.
