Overlooking the bay and the city from one side and the ocean from the other, Fort Rosecrans Cemetery serves as the final resting place for the men and women who spent their lives serving their country. Erected on the site of a former artillery station, this historical landmark features endless rows of somber, white marble headstones. Walk through the grounds, where the tranquil atmosphere and scenic views inspire contemplation. You can also see bronze and granite memorials honoring soldiers all the way back to the Mexican-American War. Publicly accessible with a stellar view of San Diego a d the Pacific Ocean. Many of the stones are recent with the interred being very young. While you are seeing the sights, remember to honor our sacred dead. Be respectful.

A picturesque, peaceful place overlooking the ocean. A beautiful place for US military to be remembered for their service. There's a large information center (with restrooms) that contains a number of fascinating historical weapons and armor, as well as a walk through historical display on the discovery and settlement of America.
