Blue Jay Point County Park is a 236-acre park that was once primarily agricultural land. A majority of this acreage is now second-growth forestlands. We have roughly three acres dedicated to open play fields, playgrounds, an environmental education center and an overnight lodge.A visit to Blue Jay Point County Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Raleigh trip planning website to plot your vacation.
Blue Jay Point is a peninsula, bordered on three sides by Raleigh's primary drinking water supply, Falls Lake. The lake is a reservoir managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Park boundaries are marked by orange blazes on trees and with signs. All local, state and federal laws apply while inside the park. The park officially opened its gates to the public on January 1, 1992.

My friend's toddler had a school field trip (his first) to this cute park, which is somewhat near his school. We only got to see a limited part of the whole place, as we were on a timeline, but...

Loved this park, there is a lot to do and keeps kids busy. I also like the amount of areas to sit around the park. They have bathrooms and a nice trail that leads to the lake. We had fun for hours.

SWEET PLAYGROUND! I believe it’s a very similar copy of the one at Crowder County Park, which is also a sweet playground as well. We originally visited maybe 4-6 months ago, and the playground area was under construction…Good to see this playground finished snd completed! I love how the entire area was layed out, all the creative ways to climb up to the second level, or even the third level to go down one of their super slides. Great playground for ANY age kids. 😁👍 UPDATE: WALK ON THEIR HIKING TRAILS IN THE WOODS!!! There is a SUPER COOL rock area right next to the water! Ya gotta walk five min back into the woods to get to it, but it is so beautiful!
