  • Spectacular! I’ve been a resident of Kansas City since 2005 and I’d never before been to this museum. It wasn’t really even on my radar. What a treasure this is for Johnson County. So much history and insight into how the area developed. The 1950s all-electric house was great, and the exhibit on “redlining“ was very interesting. So all I can say is, “RUN! Don’t walk!” Go check this place out.
  • I've been to a lot of county museums. Most just have displays of items that various people donated in hand-me-down display cases. But this one is really well-designed. Very large displays take advantage of the large space of this former bowling alley/skating rink. I was delighted to see the main theme being a 50's and 60's suburbia. The feature is a model all-electric house they somehow brought inside. Price is very reasonable. Plan on an hour.
