Learn about the history of the region with a trip to The Durham Museum. Through partnerships with the Smithsonian Institution, Library of Congress, National Archives, and Field Museum, this museum covers a range of subjects, such as history, culture, science, and industry. You'll learn a great deal about the city of Omaha as you view exhibits about the different neighborhoods, well-known citizens, and important landmarks. Your hands-on learning experience includes trains you can walk through, a large coin collection, and Native American artifacts. Housed in the impressive Art Deco building of Union Station, the museum's architecture alone is worth a visit. Wonderful museum, a lot to see! Everything from old train cars to war clubs. The exhibitions are very pedagogicly arranged as well. Not to mention the building itself which is impressive.

Extremely nice. Lots to see. Very well kept. Very interesting exhibits. The building itself is just a gem, Wonderful architecture. It was quiet, not many people around so we could take our time and see all the exhibits at our own pace. It was a wonderful afternoon, a couple of hours well spent. The history is just beautifully represented. It's laid out very efficiently, the trains are absolutely astounding. You can walk on them and sit in them. They are a treasure in and of themselves. The entire day was a big A+++....... Air conditioned, quiet, and the price was very reasonable for seniors. It was very reasonable for everybody actually. I highly recommend spending a few hours at the Durham museum, it's well worth the time and the money. Plenty of free parking, and again the building is just astounding, the outside architecture is also very beautiful...
Nice, smaller museum in a historic railroad building. Architecture and design are interesting. The special exhibits that are featured several times a year are always chosen so there's really something of interest for everyone. I recently enjoyed the Downton Abbey costume exhibit with a friend, and will return at a later date with my mom, know she'll love it. Enjoyed more than one really cool dinosaur exhibit over the years! They also have a nice gift shop with a wide variety of merchandise. Recommended!
