Housing the world's largest collection of glass sculptures by artist Dale Chihuly, Oklahoma City Museum of Art brings art to life in the city's renowned downtown arts district. Although it covers a period of nearly 500 years, the museum's collection is especially strong in European and American art of the 19th and 20th centuries. Spread across three floors, the permanent exhibit space displays works by Alexander Calder, Henry Moore, Georgia O'Keefe, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Charles Wilson Peale, and Gustave Courbet. The museum also houses a theater that screens international, independent, and classic films. Finish your visit with a meal at the museum's full-service restaurant, which offers a menu inspired by French cuisine. The Dale Chihuly exhibit is beautiful. The museum is spacious, and the food is exceptional.Went on a Wednesday afternoon. Parking was a little difficult, but it was worth it. more »
The featured exhibits are always really cool even though they don't have any hyper famous pieces. The rest of the museum features some much less well known artists but is still a worth while experience. The art museum is a good place to go if you're a tourist or just have around an hour to kill.
I honestly had such a wonderful time! The exhibits were really incredible. Everyone working here was also super friendly. I would definitely recommend to anyone who hasn't gone to check it out. Everyone in my group found at least one exhibit that they really loved. It's just great.
