A popular fishing spot, you can catch a Pacific bonito or sand bass off Oceanside Pier, and grill your own dinner at one of the shaded picnic areas complete with tables and barbecue grills. If the fish aren't biting, you can get an equally delicious meal at the 1950s-style diner nearby. At the end of the pier is the Junior Seau Pier Ampitheatre, which hosts events and performances throughout the year. Rent a bike from one of the many rental shops and ride down the pier to find a nice spot to watch local surfers catch waves--just be sure to keep your distance from the often peckish pelicans. You'll have to pay for parking; it's available on a first-come, first-served basis. If nearby lots are full, consider parking in one of the free lots on the east side of the village. Oceanside Pier reviews
We visited the pier in early evening......tons of people, still. This place is great for "people watching." And, of course, that includes surfers to watch. The highlight, for us, was a man fishing.... more

Love the quaint small town, old days feel of Oceanside. Enjoy seeing the Marines. People are friendly, helpful. Lots and lots of good places to eat or just have a drink Beach is clean and big. Nice theatre and a cool old bowling alley (in business since 1945) Lots of families out and about Great Market Night. Low profile police presence
This is a nice pier. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This pier is very long and has a building at the end which used to be a restaurant but is now under renovation. This pier has lots of spots to go fishing and watch surfers in the beach, which is nice. This pier is very easy to get to because it’s located in downtown Oceanside. I gave this pier five stars because you get a nice view of the ocean and people surfing.
