  • This organization should protect both the consumer and the breed. It does neither and even sells its own products. I was told by the breeder my dogs came from "champion lines". When I called to register, the AKC said I could not fully do so as the grandparents were not listed: A Pennsylvania puppy mill!! The breeder had his eleven-year old kid watching the pups all day while the parents were essentially elsewhere. He fed them raw food too young. The dam was never with her pups. They never checked on him. As I left with them at a very expensive rate, all I was given was an empty bag of dog food!! I thought I would get purebreds after 30 years of doing mixed and pure breed rescue. Apparently, the organization only cares about the money they receive from breeders and registrants and shows. They do NOTHING to help the health of the breeds with back/cross techniques or anything else. Perhaps like the Miss America Pageant, they should dump the smimsuit contest!!!
  • People the American Kennel Club does not sell puppies, dogs what are you thinking this is not supported by them . They are just using the name run. I am a breeder trust me puppy mill pups !!! Buyer beware!!!!!! Run run run
