Sprawling green lawns unfold in the forefront while the Manhattan skyline takes up the background on the other side of the river at Randall’s Island Park. The island and its twin are connected to the mainland by three different bridges and more than 80 percent is covered by parkland. The island has a long history as being used for asylums, hospitals, and cemeteries and is currently home to two psychiatric hospitals, a police station, and a homeless shelter. In more recent years, the island has made strides to be a recreational hot bed. Today it hosts a stadium, athletic fields, a driving range, playground, and walking and rollerblading paths. The park is a popular place to bicycle and picnic for tourists and locals alike. Put Randall’s Island Park at the forefront of your travel plans using our New York City road trip planning tool.

I went here for Governor's ball 2018. I went with four other people and it was easy to get too. We walked on the footbridge the first day. The scenery was amazing. The second day we took the ferry... more »
Venue is good for festivals, if it doesn't rain. If it rains then there is little to no drainage on the island and everyone becomes mud people. Rough scene 😂 - just temper your expectations given the island is primarily a grass field with a few trees. Top hills offer opportunity to relax and unwind from events there. Parking usually it's restricted, limited, it non existent depending on the host. Plan on a tough route in and out. Public transportation is available though.
I went to an all white function at Randall's Island park on Saturday and loved it. The music was pumping and the food was great. The only problem is that if you have never been there before, you can get a little lost.
