PlayStation Theater (formerly Best Buy Theater and Nokia Theatre Times Square) was an indoor live events venue in New York City, owned and managed by Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) (100%), located on 1515 Broadway, at the corner of Broadway and 44th Street. It was designed by architect David Rockwell and opened in September 2005. The venue had a large standing room orchestra section, combined with a large area of seating towards the rear of the auditorium.A visit to PlayStation Theater represents just the start of the adventure when you use our New York City trip planner to plot your vacation.
The venue was originally built as the Loew's Astor Plaza Theatre, a movie theater operated by Loews Theatres, which opened in 1974 and closed in August 2004. The estimated total cost of the transformation was $21 million.
Due to the expiration of its lease, the PlayStation Theater closed on December 31, 2019 after a set of shows by Philadelphia trance fusion band the Disco Biscuits.
PlayStation Theater Reviews

Not sure why people are lying in the reviews. I saw Ninja S*x Party a couple months ago and Stephen Lynch both at this theater. The performers choose if it's standing room only, or if the seats in... more »
I've been to this venue twice for Symphonic/Gothic Metal shows and it has been two of the best shows of my life. Acoustics are great, the GA floor is pretty big, and there's balconies if you want space to yourself. I haven't tried drinks here but I can comment on the merch area being spacious. The design of this theater with visuals like lights and escalators and everything make this theater feel quality and classy.
Good venue. The staff where very nice and everything was organized. The venue itself was nice looking and roomy. I would go to another show at this venue. It also has plenty of seating.
