In 1868 Patrick Henry Carley opened his Landmark Tavern, an Irish Waterfront Saloon. In those days there was no 12th Avenue, just the shores of the Hudson, on which his Tavern sat. Mr. and Mrs. Carley designed their new saloon to also be a practical home for their children on the second and third floors.Put Landmark Tavern into our New York City trip itinerary planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in New York City.
This remained as such until prohibition forced them to turn the third floor into a speakeasy. As one of the oldest continually operating establishments in the CIty today, The Landmark Tavern still retains its classic old New York charm.

Superb vibes and super friendly service. The meals were crisp and yummy. Will easily recommend this restaurant to anyone. Convenient rates and generous portions. Keep up the great work.
After seeing a show I really wanted out of Times Square and wandered over here as it was close to the hotel. The bartender was delightful, they had a nice selection of beer and even a cider on tap, and the lamb shanks were the best I ever had. YUM. Also loved the decor. I haven't been to a pub in Ireland in over 20 years but this really fit the bill. Will be back next time I'm in town.
