Commemorating the watershed event of recent American history, 9/11 Memorial marks the spot of the two World Trade Center buildings that were destroyed during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Gain a deeper understanding of the tragic events surrounding those attacks by taking a guided walking tour of Ground Zero. A museum features exhibits ranging from objects found in the rubble to multimedia displays offering the stories and final voicemails of those who died in the buildings. You can stop by the memorial's two reflecting pools, designed to inspire hope and renewal and to pay tribute to victims. 9/11 Memorial reviews
We did not visit the meuseum, only the grounds and surrounding area. NYC has done an exceptionally beautiful job and I highly recommend visiting. more »
It was surreal to visit and see these images in real life. They had many many artifacts from the day and the museum is built underground around the base of the towers, leaving parts of them exposed... more »
It was a great experience! A must see in New York. From my point of view, I suggest starting from the fourth floor, with the dinosaurs, which I think is the best part. Of course interests may be different for each person, but dinosaurs are the great attraction! The big animal area is also awesome! You need at least three hours to quickly see everything. For details, you'll probably take a whole day!
The main exhibit does not allow photography so it's all stuff that hasn't been seen before. Also you can download the app on your phone and have a voice guided tour. I used wireless ear phones and split them between me and my husband. Turned out great! So moving and respectful. Well done!
