This building is essentially the beginning of your journey through Mount Vernon. It is where you can grab brochures, sign up for a tour, and just prepare yourself for your visit to George Washington's estate. It is a very spacious building and feels very inviting. It's also here where you buy your ticket and go through a light security check. Prepare yourself here because once you exit the building it feels like you are traveling back in time.

George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate puts on a big celebration of the first president's birthday each year. This would have been the 287th birthday. The public was invited for free tour of the mansion and grounds. The day was capped off with birthday cake and a concert from members of the U.S. Air Force Band.
