This is a wonderful zoo. The setting is on 200 acres of wooded land and all of the exhibits are neatly nestled in it. I don't know of another zoo that is like it. Super enjoyable ... but be advised... more »

Fun place. Lots of new habitats under construction, so a bit challenging to maneuver. but doable. Lots of food and beverages. Informative about the animals, their habitat and endangered status. Nice that parking and entrance fee is all in one as you drive into the large parking area. Offers several fun specialty activities in the evening, like the Harry Potter birthday party, boo at the zoo, food tasting, camping. Great place!

I always love going to the zoo. The Milwaukee County zoo was the first in the nation to try to exhibit the animals in their natural habitats. There is lots of green space, and while it is definitely a favorite outing for families and school field trips, it's not just for kids. As an adult with no children, I love walking the grounds, seeing the animals, and reading the fun facts boards. The train is always a must for me to ride, and yes, adults do fit inside the cars. The zoo is a fun place to go no matter what your age.
