Escape the city noise and traffic at the Venice Canals Walkway, part of the Venice Canal Historic District. The canals, built by Abbot Kinney in 1905, were intended to resemble the canals of Venice, Italy. They were drained and renovated into scenic walking paths in 1992. Enjoy a relaxing stroll on the paths and quaint bridges, pausing to admire the charming, architecturally diverse homes along the way. The tranquility of this area is notable, especially in comparison to the nearby Venice Beach Boardwalk. The Venice of the US. Well these canals were quite low when we came but still beautiful nonetheless. The water reflects everything nicely and the walkways are a joy. The houses are the real stars here. It's absolutely amazing some of these places. Most of us mortals can only dream of owning one.

This is one of my favorite place to walk around. It's different from anything else in the city and is so charming with the little bridges. I like to peek at these beautiful houses and contemplate the ducks hanging out.
