Very nicely kept and well preserved part of history. A wonderful resource of historical displays. One ranger on duty was dressed a in period attire as a drummer. He was able to play different commands. Restrooms and gift shop. National history passport stamps available. There is a bit of walk to the fort from the parking lot, but it's flat if you have a wheelchair.

Completely blown away at how well preserved and staged this was. It truly was like stepping back in time. Informative, educational and eye opening. You are able to walk through each area of the fort and see just what it would have been like. Each area tells a story and you can feel the pain, joy, and hope reading the words and names etched into the walls. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and the walk through museum was beyond eye opening. There are interactive displays and even a holographic account from a young Indian woman who's relatives experienced life on the prarie during the days of Fort Larned. There is no sugar coating her message of what really happened and how the native Americans were treated. An absolute gift to be able to visit this old fort. So very much appreciate that it has been preserved and the messages allowed to be told.
