We climbed the stairs, not knowing what to expect. Once we reached the top, we kept going and exploring. It is well worth the stop. more »

Apocalyptic Mad Max scenery with custom made cars and lots of sand. Hard to believe that such a nice place is here only 4h drive from Chicago. We took snowboards, kites and or 4x4 and we use them all.... more »

If you don't know where to go for the fourth of July then this is the place! Thunder by the bay give you a spectacular fireworks performance and the smooth sand keeps you cool at night. There are many hills you can just roll or run off of. This place is amazing. Parking might be the only problem but it's not surprise because it's a large tourist attraction.

A cute little beach on Silver Lake close to Lake Michigan. Just be prepared to climb some intense dunes to get to the water. They have "stairs" that leads to the first dune, however those stairs are now covered in sand which made the first climb perhaps the most intense climb. Additionally make sure you have shoes that are fit to walk in sand. On very sunny days the sand can get scorching and can burn the bottoms of your feet. As long as you are prepared this is an amazing experience.
