Heartland Farm's Spiritual Retreat Center is a ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace who believe in the integration of mind, body, and spirit. We raise alpacas for their fleece, chickens for fresh farm eggs, and we grow organic food in our gardens Spring through Fall. We welcome you to schedule a tour or retreat. View our website at http://heartlandfarm-ks.org to learn more. We also accept volunteers year round. Overnight volunteers work in exchange for free room and board. With our international travel planner, Great Bend attractions like Heartland Farm can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.
Heartland Farm is located 13 miles west of Great Bend, Kansas in rural Rush County. Surrounded by vistas of farms and the great sky, this beautiful setting offers space for retreat and renewal, study and prayer, learning and creative expression.
The farm consists of an eighty acre homestead with organic gardens, crop lands and pastures, a prairie labyrinth and many trails. A wooded creek traverses the land and two ponds offer habitat for the native species that dwell here. We also have 2 straw bale buildings, one an art studio and the other a hermitage. See photos on our Facebook page.

Come walk an alpaca! This farm is so much fun and ran by an awesome, knowledgeable staff that answered all of our questions about the Alpacas. They show you how to hold an alpaca to walk with it safely. They have cookies, hot cocoa, and kids can make an alpaca mask. A beautiful silo with stained glass windows you can sit inside of, a tree tunnel you can sit in, and an awesome gift shop with cool alpaca products. Fun outing for the family!
