Take a 16.6 km (10.3 mi) walk on one of the longest continuous sidewalks in the world, The Seawall. It was built to protect the city from the destructive power of waves. On this 5.2 m (17 ft) high wall, you'll see long stretches of murals that depict underwater life painted by children. You'll encounter a number of statues and historical markers throughout the site. The sidewalk is wide and suitable for jogging and cycling. You'll see shops and restaurants along the wall as well. • Great place to walk, people watch, shop, grab a bite to eat, and plenty of bars. Very clean and you can walk forever.

  • My Daughter and I enjoyed our visit to the Galveston seawall and the views leading to it. It was well worth our trip from San Antonio! It was very peaceful and beautiful! The fresh breeze off the water felt amazing! We visited the less frequented portion of the beach and thought it was incredible! We will definitely visit again! There was a restaurant and souvenir shop with very friendly Staff. We loved every minute of it.
  • Great place for an early morning walk in the beach. No too hot and not too windy. They start putting out chairs with tents early for your to enjoy for a price if you want to stay on the beach with shade.
