In the middle of an urban oasis, you can escape the heat at Fort Worth Water Gardens. The 1.7 hectare (4.3 acre) park features terraces with water flowing throughout, including the active cascading pool, which drops 11 m (38 ft) into a small body of water. Architects Phillip Johnson and John Burgee built this park in 1974. Take a stroll around one of the three pools of water for which the park is famous. View the blue meditation pool that is surrounded by cypress trees and the aerating pool, surrounded by oaks. The park is also well known for its terraced knoll, which helps keep the noise of the city out. Very glad I was able to experience the Water Gardens finally. I've lived within 10 miles of this park for 15 years and am very sad I'd waited this long to enjoy the beautiful pools and fountains. The City Fort Worth has done an amazing job keeping up this iconic landmark and notable movie site (Logan's Run - 1976). I look forward to going back with my family vacationing in North Texas.
Such an enchanted experience, not sure why I waited so long to go here. It was just magical! We went during the daylight and after dark, both equally important for your experience. Bring food and a book to stay a while, you'll be glad you did. Also, the park is larger than expected and sectioned off into several areas to enjoy, each with their own vibe. We will definitely go back and stay longer.
