The Fisher Building is a landmark skyscraper located at 3011 West Grand Boulevard in the heart of the New Center area of Detroit, Michigan. The ornate 30-story building, completed in 1928, is one of the major works of architect Albert Kahn, and is designed in an Art Deco style, faced with limestone, granite, and several types of marble. The Fisher family financed the building with proceeds from the sale of Fisher Body to General Motors. It was designed to house office and retail space.
The building, which contains the elaborate 2,089-seat Fisher Theatre, was designated a National Historic Landmark on June 29, 1989. It also houses the headquarters for the Detroit Public Schools and the studios of radio stations WJR, WDVD, and WDRQ.

  • Beautiful old building in downtown Detroit. Parking is very expensive, we just hoped out, took a quick picture and left.  more »
  • Yet another beautiful Detroit building lobby. Take a few minutes after or before the Motown museum and hop over a few blocks to see this one. Definitely worth a look.  more »

  • This is truly a beautiful building. There are a group of shops that sell a variety of possible gifts and necessities as well as the theater. A new thing the building has been doing is showcasing local artists with their inside windows with exhibits switching between painted and photographed showcases. They also have additional displays pertaining to history such as the current "Flags of the Fisher" that is going on July 2019. I also highly recommend going on the tour of the Fisher Building through Pure Detroit, or just walking around the first 3 floors (especially the 3rd where you can see the ceiling's incredible artwork up close. A must see if you are visiting Detroit from near or far!
  • Beautiful atmosphere. Acoustics weren't the best but the show (Cats) was phenomenal. The shops, throughout the building, were quaint and very interesting. I'll definitely go back again.
