In the roaring twenties, Detroit fueled prohibition and an entrepreneurial spirit that didn't follow the rules. A century later, eight childhood friends are starting a small distillery to make alcohol the old fashion way. Detroit City Distillery creates small batch artisanal whiskey, gin and vodka using the finest local ingredients sourced directly from farms near our distillery and tasting room located in Detroit's famed Eastern Market. The result is a drink of distinction made for the revolutionaries rewriting the history of a great American city.Arrange your visit to Detroit City Distillery and discover more family-friendly attractions in Detroit using our Detroit trip itinerary maker site.

Detroit City Distillery Reviews
We went on the tour of the distillery with Garrett as our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and we not only learned a lot about bourbon, the drink was excellent! I loved the information and... more »

Went here last Saturday around 4PM. Drove all the way from just outside Flint specifically to visit. Walked in and immediately liked the place, unfortunately after that it all went downhill. My wife and I got 2 seats at the bar. We sat directly in front of the barman. He never acknowledged our presence. In the 10 minutes we sat there 2 more people behind d the bar walked by us as if we didn't even exist. I was terribly disappointed and we just got up and left. I had wanted to try their Rye and vodka and likely would have bought a couple of bottles. They probably let $200 worth of business walk out the door because they couldn't take the time to say " Hi, we will be right with you" We travel all over the state to support local breweries and distilleries rather than buy big brand names. In all our travels this is the worst experience we have had. So disappointed.
Our Bartender Garret was phenomenal. He recommended we try the smoked fish and cheese and honestly I can't remember the last time I had salmon that was so expertly prepared. The entire spread was delactable. The drinks in the photos are the rye old fashioned and blueberry velvet on draft both were refreshing and made with an eye for presentation. We will be back.
