The Fillmore Auditorium (often known as The Fillmore Denver) is a concert venue located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. Since opening in 1907, the venue has hosted numerous functions both private and public. It holds the title of the largest indoor venue for general admission seating in Colorado. The venue also holds an exclusive dual Minors with Adults Liquor License in Colorado for a private venue; it allows minors and consumers over 21 to stand together, rather than having to be separated by their ages. In 2006, local newspaper Westword awarded the venue the "Best Place to Run into a Hippie turned Yuppie". The venue also houses an office for the Bill Graham Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides music grants.
Fillmore Auditorium Reviews
We volunteered for the Pete for America event on January 8th. What a great venue for his rally. The acoustics are excellent, the entry process went very quickly (filling to capacity in under an... more »
My wife & I went to see +Live+ Bush for their Altimate 25th Anniversary tour. It was small enough you could see and hear rhe bands play from everywhere. But it was so hot and muggy. They need to use..... more »
The concert and music were great. The venue is so-so. First I was met with metal detectors, which I understand, since people are nervous about attending events with crowds, but why would a venue have a policy that does not allow police officers to be armed? That is one of the stupidest ideas I have ever heard. We finally made it inside. We asked three different workers where our seat section was located, and ended up locating it on our own, since none of them knew. The restrooms smelled of marijuana. After the concert, my wife went to the merchandise booth to purchase a shirt. I wandered over to the photos on the wall by the bathroom to look at them and kill time until she was done, as there was a line. I was ordered to leave by an angry older woman, who, I guess, wanted to get everyone out so she could ride her broomstick home. Not going back. I'll go to another town to see a band before I return here.
This venue is awesome! Probably one of the bigger venues on Colfax, but still small enough such that even standing in the back is a great view. The venue looks like a converted ball room, and the acoustics are fantastic. This is probably my favorite indoor venue in Denver. I saw Metric here twice and was never disappointed.
