Experience the varied ecosystems of Colorado at Denver Botanic Gardens, an oasis in the center of the Mile High City and one of the first botanical gardens in the United States to focus on native plants. The 9.7 hectare (23 acre) park is home to seven different gardens and boasts the largest collection of plants in North America from cold temperature areas across the globe. With visiting exhibits, a sunken amphitheater for concerts, and two additional satellite locations, at Chatfield and Mount Goliath, there is always a new reason to visit these historical gardens. Beautifully curated. Very picturesque. Expansive—be prepared to spend >2 hours here if you’re a plant lover like I am! I can picture all the beautiful events that could be held here. There’s a little something for everyone. The map is well labeled and at $12, very affordable. I visited during the Human Nature display and the map helped guide me through the gardens.

These gardens not only offer cool plants, but also waterfalls and different buildings to go into. The plants were very interesting and there was almost too much to see. The indoor plants had the jungle feel and it was very interesting to see the banana tree and the chocolate tree as well. The areas for different countries and areas of the world were also all different from the last. The sculptures were all different and cool in their own way. The gift shop is full of garden accessories. The Denver Botanic Gardens is definitely a five star attraction and if you are in the Denver area you should stop by and walk around and look at the plants.
