Oregon State University (OSU) is a public land-grant, research university in Corvallis, Oregon. OSU offers more than 200 undergraduate-degree programs along with a variety of graduate and doctoral degrees. It has the 10th largest engineering college in the nation for 2022. Undergraduate enrollment for all colleges combined averages close to 32,000, making it the state's largest university. Out-of-state students make up over one-quarter of undergraduates and an additional 5,500 students are engaged in graduate coursework through the university. Since its founding, over 272,000 students have graduated from OSU. It is classified among "Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity".
Chartered as a land-grant university initially, OSU became one of the four inaugural members of the Sea Grant in 1971. It joined the Space Grant and Sun Grant research consortia in 1991 and 2003, respectively, making it the first public university and one of just four in total to attain membership in all four initiatives (University of Hawaii at Manoa, Cornell University and Pennsylvania State University are the others). OSU received a record high $449.9 million in research funding for the 2022 fiscal year and has ranked as the state's top earner in research funding for over 50 years.

  • Awesome campus! Old world charm , walkable and even easy parking. Well integrated into the city. Common area buildings were immaculate and well maintained. Everyone we met was relaxed and enjoyed being there.
  • For me, it's the health class. The best required credit. I even ask for extra health education and my advisor is so friendly and more than willing to oblige. One time I asked for more health classes and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly University professor laughed and said, "no". Now the dean greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS gives me three more health classes. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local university restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for health class and a long lecture on the holocaust, 1-2 times for intro to writing on the weekend, and maybe once for women's studies when I'm in a rush but want a great class that is expensive, pointless, and can match my daily time-wasting needs. I even subtitle health class lectures in my student job, it's amazing! What a great college!
