The volunteer staff was very helpful and the self guided brochure very informative. I would recommend stopping in to see the Basilica.

Simply fabulous and a real hidden gem to see if looking for something to do when in the city. Beautiful interior and exterior and grounds are kept tidy. Sitting park in the back yard is worth checking out along with the fountain. The stain glass windows are interesting and beautiful, and this catherdral has the largest stain glass " religious theme" window in the world. The staff who were on duty spent time with us pointing out highlights and unique features. The best part is that it is free to see and donations are welcome
Beautiful 1895 Cathedral built in inspiration of Notre Dame in Paris (outside) and Saint Denis basilica (also in Paris) for the inside, where the kings of France were buried. This little secret in south Cincinnati is truly a jewel with little visits and free access. The greeting staff is really helpful and will provide interesting tips about the temple. Pay attention to the glass decoration just behind you as you enter, depicting the late 400s "Council of Ephesus " where 250+ bishops met for first time to agree whether Mary was the mother of God, or just Christ (at the time that was a big deal as it would define the godly or human nature of the Savior and creates a schism with the Christian churches of the East and in Persia. There are free bathrooms at the end and the temple is handicapped accessible. Mass at 10am.
