Unabridged Books, Chicago

This is by far my favorite bookstore in Chicago and we have many amazing ones. I’ve been going here for 20+ years, some of the original staff are still there. They are engaging and helpful when needed. They make good recommendations, and you can’t beat their sale section. As a broke 21yo who loved books, this allowed me to read much and often. And as a guy in his 40’s there something comforting in going there and seeing the familiar. Couldn’t gush enough about them. And I love that they change their bookmarks up over the years and still give them with every book. I’ve held onto a few of them.

Nice bookstore with a great variety for the size. Feels a little cramped in parts, but it’s fun to get lost in the books. Helpful staff, clean store, arranged nicely.
