Create an itinerary including Haystack Rock
Rising 72 m (235 ft) above the Pacific shoreline, Haystack Rock serves as one of the Oregon Coast's most iconic monuments. You can reach the formation, known as a sea stack, at low tide from the beach. It plays home to an array of tide pool-dwelling creatures like crabs, starfish, and anemones. Visit the monolithic rock and the surrounding seaside area and partake of beachfront activities, such as picnicking, kite-flying, and enjoying nature. Bird-watchers should keep an eye out for the great number of species that periodically nest on and near the sea stack. Be sure to check local tide tables to ensure your safety and access to the rock. Plan your visit to Haystack Rock and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Cannon Beach attractions planning tool.

  • The image is one I've seen many times. It was nice to wander the beach nearby, especially at low tide. Highly recommended.

  • What more can be said about the go to place in Cannon Beach? Haystack Rock is fun to walk to and is very impressive. Lots of access points to the beach. Just have to figure out parking. I walked in...

  • The beach was clean, the weather was perfect and the water was cold! Please respect the Tide Pools and keep your space. Go early for easy parking. The public restrooms nearby were also clean. There are some shops, but we wanted to avoid the stores and stay at the beach. Awesome coastline!
  • The kid's loved the Tide Pools. They loved seeing the clams and Anemones. I wish we could've see some starfish but we were a little to late. Either way it was a great experience for us and the kid's. We had beautiful 80° weather when we went. It was wonderful. Recommend 100%
