Stretching 14 km (9 mi) along the Pacific, Ecola State Park features lush forests, open ocean views, wildlife, nature trails, and picnic spots. Hiking through the forest, you'll come across cliff-side viewpoints, offering views of secluded coves, forested promontories, and an abandoned lighthouse. Wear good hiking boots and be ready for deer, elk, eagle, and whale encounters. There may be surfers and beach goers on some of the shores, as well as groups of people gathered to watch marine life that has adapted to living on the rocks in the shallow ocean pools. Spectacular views of the coast and Cannon Beach! We loved hiking some of the trails and taking in the views. The weather was a bit cloudy and windy, so the vista of the beach was absolutely amazing...

This is a great spot for beginners or even elderly/handicap people. You get a great view even just driving up. There are bathrooms right near the parking and down the trail as well. There are some longer trails but you can still get some great views from the main short walking trails. It's a short drive from Seaside and parking is 5 bucks. Dog and kid friendly as well. Come check this place out.

This beach was so magical!! First time ever seeing the pacific coast and I truly fell in love with this spot. We hiked all the way down to the beach trying to make it by sunset, and it didn’t disappoint one bit. The hike was a bit treacherous, but so worth it. The hike itself was beautiful, I felt like I was in the forest mixed with jungle! Once we were down at the beach, we were the only ones down there. We got to enjoy the sunset and beautiful views. Will definitely be back.
