The Idaho Botanical Garden (IBG) is a nonprofit botanical garden located on 50 acres (200,000 m2) at 2355 North Old Penitentiary Road, Boise, Idaho, United States. Until 1973 the site served as the Old Idaho State Penitentiary's farm and nursery. After the penitentiary was closed, the land lay dormant for more than a decade, and in 1984 the gardens were first created. The facility is operated by a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. To help fund the garden, an admission fee is charged for entry.

    You would think that with so much time on their hands due to Covid they could spend a little more time decorating for the Winter Garden. Yeah, no.... It took up literally 10 minutes to do the entire.....  more »

    Beautiful and inexpensive. Explore the gardens with two small kids, they had a good time. Different themed gardens, an array of different types of plants and trees. The layout was also done in a way.....  more »

    Didn't see the gardens, but we were there to see Piano Guys at Outlaw Field. Nice little venue. All lawn seating, right up to the stage. Beautiful backdrop with rocky hills, and Table Rock close by. There are several food trucks on hand, in case you decided not to bring a picnic. Parking seems a little limited. We ended up at the Table Rock trail head. We had a great time. YMMV.

    This place is huge and they always have awesome bands. My only thing would be that the staff check chair heights. We went to Lord Huron and the were a couple there with high chairs that were not allowed and no one said anything to them. Over all this place is amazing with beautiful views!
