Celebrate the legacy of U.S. artists and their work, from colonial to contemporary, at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Architect Moshe Safdie designed this museum to unite natural elements from the ravine where it was built with the structure of the museum itself, which opened in 2011. Spend time relaxing on the pavilion beside spring-fed ponds or gazing at masterpieces. From Rothko, Rockwell, and Lichtenstein paintings to Charles Willson Peale’s portrait of George Washington, the museum’s permanent collection does not disappoint. Travel through time and place as you move through the collection, which is laid out in chronological order, and enhance your experience by visiting the equally inspired temporary exhibits. Make Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art part of your personalized Bentonville itinerary using our Bentonville travel route builder.

You can even take your bike here and ride on the art trail to the square! I didn't but would like to when the weather is nicer. more »

This is my second trip to Crystal Bridges. It is impossible to describe this place in words, but I will try. First, the building and grounds are a architectural masterpiece. The grounds are surrounded with beautiful gardens, trails, fountains, and sculptures. Inside the museum you will be amazed by the hundreds (maybe thousands) of paintings and sculptures from the 1500s to present day. The use of color and texture excite your senses and imagination. The images take you back to a simpler time in America when greats such as George Washington and Alexander Hamilton lived. Anyone with an appreciation of art will love this museum.

Crystal bridge was like a diamond among.. Well, I can't say rough, but maybe other smaller diamonds. The trail leading to the place was beautiful, well kept, and with plenty of the side amenities and art work. Then when we reached this place we were thoroughly surprised. Both classical American artworks and contemporary were available for viewing, and it was absolutely free. There was an art piece that was temporary available we missed out, as we didn't budget a 12 dollar ticket, but the coffee there was nice. There's a really nice fine dining area too. Oh, and the workers were fantastic, very knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. All-in-all, highly recommended, and well be going back.
