#3,077 of 3,692 in Things to do in London
Freightliners City Farm is an urban farm located in Lower Holloway in the London Borough of Islington. It is the only urban farm in the borough.

The City Farm movement provides opportunities for young people in an urban environment to see and interact with creatures they would not otherwise see. Freightliners is a community-organised charity, receiving funding both from the council and donations.

Freightliners Farm was founded on former wasteland behind King's Cross station in 1973. The name was adopted because originally the animals were housed in railway goods vans. The Farm moved to its present site in 1978 and purpose-built farm buildings were erected in 1988. The site is half a hectare.
There is an ornamental garden, vegetable, herb and fruit gardens on the site. There is also an animal village, where children can look at rabbits, and a farm shop and café.

  • Small local farm, which is lovely to have as part of a busy inner city borough. Unfortunately, there were not many animals to see on this occasion. But for my 2 year old seeing farm animals is always an exciting experience.
  • I hired some hay/straw bales for my events company Events2k I decided to check out the cafe and decided to have lunch. I had the most amazing tortellini pasta and I can only describe it as EXCEPTIONAL Excellent coffee too. Without doubt I will be visiting this lovely little city farm and cafe again A friendly welcoming staff to add Ben Perniha Events2k
