Explore one of the most essential aspects of urban infrastructure at Al Ain Oasis, a peaceful urban oasis--literally. Known for its below-ground falaj irrigation system, with sloping underground channels transporting water from the main source to key areas, the site possesses an agricultural, historical, and biological importance. Recognized internationally as a significant heritage site, the irrigation system dates back some 3,000 years, and many of the palm plantations here still function as farms. Covering an area of 1,200 hectares (2,965 acres), the oasis and surrounding plantations are home to more than 147,000 date palms of 100 different varieties. Follow the shady pathways and take in the greenery and tranquility. To visit Al Ain Oasis on your trip to Al Ain, use our Al Ain travel route planner.

This is a beautiful oasis in the heart of the city. We watched a man climb the date palm trees to retrieve the dates. It's a nice place to relax.

Relaxing atmosphere though I highly recommend to pay for a buggy or rent a bike to explore. Its difficult to see the entire area by foot! I would suggest also to have a bit of a park where people can spend some time there & enjoy nature. Also, to have a free-taste of fresh produce from the crops of Oasis just like any other farm here.

Al Ain Oasis is a best place for those looking to immerse themselves in nature life, and a walk around the oasis is a breathtaking way to do it. Very good pathways are shaded by a vibrant canopy of trees blooming with fruits like mangoes and date. The oasis is also ripe for exploration on two wheels. Relax and ride a bicycle underneath the shade of the palm fronds for a more unique places. Best time go morning or evening. Open time 9 to 5pm. Free parking and entry . I like the farm water line system
