A desert town with an interesting history, Boulder City was created by the United States government in 1931 to provide housing for workers building the Hoover Dam, a famous Depression-era project.Start off your visit on the 3rd (Thu): examine the collection at Boulder City/Hoover Dam Museum, then look for all kinds of wild species at Lake Mead National Recreation Area, and then explore the world behind art at Tom Devlin's Monster Museum. Keep things going the next day: kick back and relax at Willow Beach, see human ingenuity at work at Hoover Dam, and then see the world from above with a helicopter tour.
