America's Finest City
Divided into neighborhoods with distinct characters and cultural heritages, San Diego sits just north of the Mexican border and offers visitors a blend of tourist attractions, including a lively nightlife, diverse cuisine, and a thriving musical scene.Change things up with a short trip to Self Realization Fellowship Hermitage & Meditation Gardens in Encinitas (about 32 minutes away). There's lots more to do: get to know the resident critters at San Diego Zoo, let little ones run wild at Balboa Park, stroll around Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, and get up close and personal with brilliant marine life at Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

Los Angeles to San Diego is an approximately 2.5-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or fly. In December in San Diego, expect temperatures between 68°F during the day and 51°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Mon) so you can travel to Las Vegas.

Fly from San Diego to Las Vegas in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Prepare for slightly colder weather when traveling from San Diego in January: high temperatures in Las Vegas hover around 59°F and lows are around 40°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 8th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
