Suzhou

Venice of the East
One of the oldest settlements in the Yangtze basin, Suzhou remains a complex, labyrinthine set of old canal districts, World Heritage gardens, and sprawling modern developments.Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Xitang Ancient Town and Shantang Street. Do some cultural sightseeing at Tongli Town and Humble Administrator's Garden. And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Suzhou Museum, walk around The Classical Gardens of Suzhou, and take in nature's colorful creations at The Lingering Garden.

With a nickname like the "Pearl of the Orient," it's not surprising Shanghai offers some of the most rewarding attractions and activities in the Far East.Visiting Travel China Guide and Huangpu River will get you outdoors.
