You'll find plenty of places to visit near Reykjavik: Thermal Spas (in Grindavik) and Thingvellir National Park (in Thingvellir). Spend the 23rd (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. You can drive from Reykjavik to Vik in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. In October, daily temperatures in Vik can reach 45°F, while at night they dip to 41°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Tue) to allow time to drive to Blaskogabyggd.
