Detroit — 3 nights

Founded in 1701 by a French explorer and adventurer, Detroit exerted a profound impact on the world for most of the 20th century.Kids will enjoy Cedar Point and Motown Museum. Venture out of the city with trips to Michigan War Dog Memorial (in South Lyon), BATL - The Backyard Axe Throwing League (in Novi) and Goofy Golf (in Sandusky). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at The Henry Ford, explore the world behind art at Detroit Institute of Arts, head outdoors with Miami Beach, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at The Cathedral Church of St. Paul.
