The former capital of Guatemala and a World Heritage Site, Antigua retains its colonial charm and remains one of the most visited destinations in the country.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Antigua: Guatemala City (Catedral Metropolitana, La Aurora Zoo, &more). There's lots more to do: admire the masterpieces at Casa Santo Domingo Museums, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathedral de Santiago, get impressive views of Volcán Pacaya, and don't miss a visit to The Plaza Central Park.

Pittsburgh, USA to Antigua is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. You can also drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 1 hour traveling from Pittsburgh to Antigua. Traveling from Pittsburgh in April, expect Antigua to be somewhat warmer, temps between 81°F and 58°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 21st (Fri) so you can drive to Lanquin.

San Agustín Lanquín, often referred to simply as Lanquín, is a municipality in the Guatemalan department of Alta Verapaz. Start off your visit on the 22nd (Sat): get a dose of the wild on Aventura Grande, then take in the dramatic scenery at Monumento Natural Semuc Champey, and then explore the fascinating underground world of Grutas Las Marias.

Traveling by car from Antigua to Lanquin takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a shuttle; or do a combination of shuttle and bus. Traveling from Antigua in April, things will get a bit warmer in Lanquin: highs are around 99°F and lows about 75°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Sat) so you can drive to Tikal National Park.
