Despite its laid-back college vibe, Austin is an influential center for politics, technology, film, and music.
On the 1st (Wed), glide peacefully along the water with some of the best stand-up paddleboarding in the area, then stop by SoCo District, then identify plant and animal life at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sitagu Buddha Vihara. On your second day here, stroll the grounds of Texas State Cemetery, then brush up on your military savvy at Texas Military Forces Museum, and then get a sense of history and politics at Texas State Capitol.
