New York City is known for museums, nightlife, and shopping. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: tour the pleasant surroundings at Central Park, enjoy breathtaking views from Empire State Building, appreciate the history behind 9/11 Memorial, and go for a walk through The High Line.

The capital of the United States, the District of Columbia contains the lion's share of the country's most treasured monuments, memorials, and public museums.
On the 15th (Thu), see the interesting displays at The National Archives Museum, ponder the world of politics at United States Capitol, then explore the world behind art at National Gallery of Art, then pause for some photo ops at Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and finally appreciate the history behind Lincoln Memorial. On your second day here, take an in-depth tour of United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, explore the activities along Tidal Basin, then get a new perspective on nature at Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, and finally appreciate the history behind Washington Monument.
