Home to nearly half of Alaska's population, the port city of Anchorage covers a staggering area of over 4,900 sq km (1,900 sq mi) surrounded by mountains.
Start off your visit on the 14th (Sun): see the interesting displays at Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center, then hit the best photo ops around with an inspiring photography tour, and then look for all kinds of wild species at Potter Marsh Bird Sanctuary.

Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.
Step out of Las Vegas to go to Boulder City and see Hoover Dam, which is approximately 50 minutes away. There's lots more to do: take in breathtaking views at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, take in panoramic vistas at Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck, join the crowd at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and don't miss a visit to The Strip.

Getting from Anchorage to Las Vegas by flight takes about 7 hours. Other options: drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Anchorage to Las Vegas. In March, Las Vegas is warmer than Anchorage - with highs of 74°F and lows of 52°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 19th (Fri) to allow enough time to fly back home.
