Mile-High City

Aptly nicknamed the "Mile-High City," Denver sits at an altitude of 1,600 m (5,280 ft) above sea level, located right where the Great Plains give way to the Rocky Mountains.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Denver Botanic Gardens and Denver Union Station. Escape the urban bustle at Trail Ridge Road and River Rafting & Tubing. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Denver: Summit Lake Park (in Idaho Springs) and Estes Park (Photography Tours, Images of Rocky Mountain National Park, &more). There's lots more to do: take a stroll through 16th Street Mall, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mount Evans, steep yourself in history at Molly Brown House Museum, and admire the masterpieces at Denver Art Museum.

For photos, other places to visit, and other tourist information, go to the Denver vacation planner.

In July in Denver, expect temperatures between 87°F during the day and 60°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 22nd (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
