Capital of Silicon Valley

The metropolitan center of Silicon Valley, San Jose considers itself a global city.
On the 2nd (Wed), pause for some serene contemplation at Oakland California Temple, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Stanford Memorial Church, then take in the architecture and design of Stanford University, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 3rd (Thu): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, then steep yourself in history at Winchester Mystery House, then trek along Los Gatos Creek Trail, and finally delve into the lush surroundings at Guadalupe Oak Grove Park.

Although urban sprawl remains synonymous with Houston, most of the city's tourist attractions lie within the relatively small downtown area, surrounded by diverse neighborhoods housing the nation's biggest African-American, Asian-American, and Latino communities.
Start off your visit on the 4th (Fri): see the interesting displays at Houston Museum District and then explore the world behind art at Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Keep things going the next day: get curious at Cockrell Butterfly Center and then examine the collection at Space Center Houston.
