Situated on the banks of the Uruguay River, the city of Paysandu nestles up close to the border with Argentina, and, with a population of over 76,000, represents the country's fourth-largest city.
Change things up with a short trip to Meseta de Artigas in Chapicuy (about 1h 10 min away). There's much more to do: make a trip to Cementerio de Paysandu, appreciate the history behind Mausoleo del General Leandro Gomez, admire the landmark architecture of Casa de Cultura, and head outdoors with Plaza Constitucion.
