Los Angeles — 2 nights

Surrounded by mountain ranges, forests, valleys, beaches, and deserts, the metropolitan area of Los Angeles is home to over 17 million people.You'll find plenty of places to visit near Los Angeles: Santa Monica Yacht Harbor Sign (in Santa Monica) and Anaheim (Disneyland Park & Disney California Adventure Park). There's lots more to do: examine the collection at The Getty Center, take in the waterfront at Santa Monica Pier, look and learn at Griffith Observatory, and make a trip to Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Fly from Los Angeles to Dallas in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. You'll lose 2 hours traveling from Los Angeles to Dallas due to the time zone difference. In January, Dallas is a bit cooler than Los Angeles - with highs of 57°F and lows of 37°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Sat) early enough to catch the flight back home.
